• The picture we take gives a detailed image of your retina - the back of your eye - allowing you to see what we see.
• We can then keep a permanent photographic reference of your eye health so we can review it with you again when you come back to see us next time.

What's involved?

• A completely non-invasive process that requires you to rest your chin on the chin-bar of the Digital Retinal camera and look at a green flashing light.
• This is followed by a short bright flash light* when the image is taken - and then it's done, all within a matter of seconds.
• This process is repeated for each eye with a 20 to 30 second pause between photographing each eye to allow your eyes to adjust to ambient light.
• The image is then available immediately for you to view on-screen and then this is made available for you to view securely online at www.visionexpressfundus.com within 48 hours hours. Full access details are given to you with a copy of your image before you leave.
