At Vision Express, we believe everyone should enjoy the freedom to browse, shop, and explore our website with ease. Whether you’re using assistive technology, a screen reader, or just prefer larger text. We’re here to help you feel right at home.
 

We’re committed to getting it right

We’ve built our website with accessibility in mind, guided by the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. These standards help make sure our site works well for as many people as possible, including those using screen readers, voice recognition software, or keyboard navigation.

But we know accessibility isn’t a one-off task. It’s a journey and we’re always looking for ways to improve.

 

What we’re doing to support you

To help create a smooth and inclusive experience, we:

  • Carry out regular checks using both automated tools and real-life testing
  • Listen to feedback and make updates where we can
  • Work with accessibility experts to keep up with best practice
  • Train our teams so accessibility is always part of the conversation
  • Have an internal accessibility roadmap to guide what’s next
     

Helpful features already in place

We’ve built in a range of features to make browsing more comfortable:

  • Keyboard-friendly navigation - You can use the Tab key (and Shift + Tab) to move around the site
  • Alternative text for images - So screen reader users don’t miss out on important info
  • Adjustable text sizes - Use your browser’s zoom settings to make content easier to read
  • Strong contrast and clear fonts - Designed with readability in mind
  • Logical page layouts and headings - To help you find your way around
  • Accessible forms - With labels and helpful error messages
  • Audio support - Our website supports Browsealoud, a tool that reads content out loud, ideal if you find it easier to listen than read
     

Where we’re still working

Some areas of our site, like third-party content or older PDFs, may not meet every accessibility standard yet. And our recruitment site relies on external platform, which can sometimes limit what we can change. But if something’s not working for you, let us know. We’ll do our best to help.

Looking ahead

We’re always working to improve and we’ll keep reviewing our website to make sure it works for everyone. That includes more testing with assistive tech users, updated training for our teams, and keeping up with changes to the WCAG guidelines.
 

Legal bit

Our work is guided by the European Accessibility Act (EEA) effective July 2025, and we’re always aiming to meet or beat the accessibility standards it sets out.
