Fighting retinoblastoma
Vision Express has selected the Childhood Eye Cancer Trust (CHECT) as one of its six charity partners.
Vision Express are proud partners of CHECT, a charity dedicated to providing support to children and their families affected by retinoblastoma.
Retinoblastoma (Rb) is a rare and aggressive form of eye cancer that affects babies and young children.
Around 98% of children will survive but early diagnosis is crucial to save a child's eyes, sight and life. Through our partnership with CHECT we hope to raise awareness of Rb and its symptoms.
CHECT doesn't receive any government funding and relies on donations to pay for its vital work. It's a small charity that plays a big part in the lives of those affected by this devastating disease.
Vision Express raises money for CHECT by fundraising through events like our Ride4Sight and other activities throughout the year. We also offer free, on the spot, glasses repairs and MOTs to anyone who comes into one of our stores, in exchange for a donation to the charity.
The average person should be getting their eyes tested once every two years. We have carefully amended the eye test for the benefit of children, so the process is quick and fun.
